How does your gift make a difference?
Research shows that once children fall behind, they stay behind. Most children who read below grade level in first grade will continue to underperform in fourth grade. Reach Out and Read works to reverse this trend and level the playing field. Our unique literacy program trains pediatricians and nurse practitioners in high-need communities to counsel parents on the importance of reading books with their children before they start kindergarten so that they start school ready to learn. The result: Reach Out and Read gives children the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
