Kari Kurjiaka is a part-time program associate with Reach Out and Read GNY where she supports the initiative’s virtual programming. She previously worked as a program associate with Too Small to Fail. She served as an AmeriCorps VISTA and Executive Assistant at United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and helped start the Lehigh Valley Reads “Talking is Teaching” community. She has worked as a preschool, elementary learning support, and preschool itinerant teacher. Originally from Lancaster Pennsylvania, Kari graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2016 with a degree in Early Childhood & Special Education and from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2020 with a masters in Early Childhood Policy.
Her favorite children’s book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.
