Kari Kurjiaka is the Director of Literacy & Public Policy with Reach Out and Read of Greater New York. She previously worked as the Project Director of the Diverse Books for All Coalition at First Book and a program associate with Too Small to Fail at the Clinton Foundation. She served as an AmeriCorps VISTA and Executive Assistant at United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. She has worked as a preschool, elementary learning support, and preschool itinerant teacher. Originally from Lancaster Pennsylvania, Kari graduated from Elizabethtown College with a degree in Early Childhood & Special Education and from Teachers College, Columbia University with a masters in Early Childhood Policy.
