By raising funds for ROR GNY, you will give young children a foundation for success by incorporating books and early literacy guidance into their pediatric care.
What is peer-to-peer fundraising? Peer-to-peer fundraising is a fundraising strategy that empowers you as an individual to raise funds on behalf of ROR GNY. It gives you the opportunity to share your personal story on why ROR GNY’s mission and early literacy is important to you.
Set a Goal – Your personal fundraising goal should be significant but achievable. When you reach your goal, it will give you a sense of pride and accomplishment. While you are on your way to your goal, the people in your network will be eager to help you reach it.
Personalize Your Page – When you register to be a P2P fundraiser, you have the opportunity to share your story with your network. While your fundraising is all about ROR GNY’s mission, your fundraising page is about you – what drives you, what motivates you, and what inspires you.
Social Media Fundraising – Social media fundraising has exploded over the past few years. Many apps allow for users to start a fundraiser directly through their app – like on Facebook and Instagram. By creating a social media fundraiser, your entire social media network will be notified and invited to donate. If you don’t want to create a fundraiser directly through your social media apps, you can still use those channels to post the link to your fundraising page, share why you are supporting ROR GNY, and invite them to donate directly to your page.
Email Campaigns – Another way to reach your network is through your email connections. With everyone having access to their email on their phones, it is easy to use emails to tell people about why you are fundraising and to ask for their support.
Recruitment – When it comes to fundraising, the more participants we have, the better! Small donations add up quickly. After you register to fundraise for ROR GNY, invite people in your network to do the same. Many hands make light work!
Fundraising Ideas – Get your job involved by asking them to sponsor your fundraising efforts, host a donation-based dress-down day at work, or provide matching gifts. Connect with a local restaurant for a dine-out event where they will donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds. Host an event where attendees donate to participate like a happy hour, BBQ, or sporting event.
The most important tip to be a successful P2P fundraiser is to always thank your donors. There are a lot of causes people can support and they are supporting ROR GNY because you believe in our mission. Make sure to acknowledge their gifts and let them know they are appreciated. That’s what keeps donors coming back!
