The Healthy Start Brooklyn Community Action Network (HSB CAN) is an organization that seeks to improve the overall health status of the residents of central and eastern Brooklyn. To achieve this goal, the Community Action Network (CAN) focuses on reducing stress and improving mental health in Bed-Stuy, Brownsville, Bushwick, and East New York. During the March meeting on March 21, 2017, Dr. Marcy Stein-Albert (pictured), Director of Pediatrics at Queens Hospital Center, gave a Reach Out and Read training to over 60 attendees. Additionally, parents at the meeting received a book bundle for their young children.
