We recently hosted our second celebration and fair with NYC Early Learning Network (ELN) at Southeast Bronx Neighborhood Centers. ELN’s mission is to collaboratively foster and support an inspired community of parents, caregivers, educators, service providers and advocates. The fair was meant to provide free information about early learning resources to New York City’s families.
Organizations that participated in the fair include: Administration for Children’s Services, Children’s Museum of the Arts, INCLUDEnyc, Jumpstart, LiteracyINC, New York Hall of Science, New York Public Library, NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, Pre-K for All (NYC DOE), WNET Education. The musical guest was Meredith Levande of Monkey Monkey Music. Assemblyman Michael Blake was in attendance.
Parents seemed engaged and appreciative of the information offered by these diverse organizations. Some of the families already know of and have benefited from Reach Out and Read of Greater New York. Some had been to our nearby program sites at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and the Center for Child Health and Resiliency.
Some of the attendees had also attended a recent workshop hosted by our program director, Monique Hardin-Cordero and our medical director, Leora Mogilner.
